Tau the Friendly Iguana

The Official Mascot of the 2003 South Pacific Games is Tau the friendly Iguana.

According to the South Pacific Games web site Tau was born on 29th June 2002, and "spent its first day leading a parade through Suva City" to celebrate one year to go until the South Pacific Games.

Participating nations and territories in the South Pacific Games are:

American Samoa, Cook islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Guam, Kirabati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Norfolk Islands, North Marianas, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Wallis and Fatuna.
